Armenia's Defense Minister Suren Papikyan attended a ceremony marking the second anniversary of the formation of the country's Special Forces, the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia said in a statement.
According to the ministry, Defense Minister Papikyan, First Deputy Defense Minister and Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces Edward Asryan, and Commander of the Special Forces Levon Davidyan made congratulatory speeches.
"Congratulating servicemen on their professional holiday, Papikyan highly praised the role and importance of the Special Forces in strengthening the country’s defense capabilities and wished them successful service,'' the statement said.
During the event, a group of servicemen were awarded medals, certificates of honor, and valuable gifts. A festive concert followed the official ceremony.
