Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday that Moscow was ready to restore relations with European countries.
"I would like to believe that, over time, the situation will change, and our countries will return to normal, constructive communication based on the principles of respect for national interests and consideration of legitimate security concerns. Russia has been and remains committed to precisely these approaches and is ready to restore the level of relations we require," Vladimir Putin mentioned.
On Thursday ambassadors from 33 nations presented their credentials to the Head of the Russian state during a ceremony at the Kremlin. The envoys are from the following countries - Slovakia, Slovenia, Somalia, Gabon, Sri Lanka, Senegal, Rwanda, Czech Republic, Mauritania, Afghanistan, Algeria, Portugal, Bangladesh, Brazil, Norway, Sweden, Egypt, Colombia, Saudi Arabia, Ghana, Namibia, Austria, Cuba, Pakistan, Israel, Korea, Peru, Uruguay, Lebanon, Switzerland, Iraq, Italy, Maldives.
