The foreign ministers of Iran and Turkey have held their second phone conversation over the past two days, with the latest developments in the Islamic Republic on the agenda. According to Turkey’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Hakan Fidan emphasized the need to conduct negotiations in order to ease the existing tensions in the region.
Earlier, Ömer Çelik, the official spokesperson of Turkey’s ruling Justice and Development Party, stated that Ankara does not want to see chaos in the neighboring country. “External interference in the affairs of the Islamic Republic will lead to even greater crises,” Çelik stressed.
