This morning, the Syrian army took control of Aleppo’s Ashrafieh district and urged residents to return after the completion of demining operations. This was reported from Aleppo by 'Lurer' correspondent Zarmik Poghikyan.
Subsequently, Aleppo’s state internal security forces dispatched around 50 buses to the Sheikh Maqsoud district, planning for the Kurdish internal security militants of the Syrian Democratic Forces to take their light weapons and leave the area by bus, heading toward northeastern Syria (the areas east of the Euphrates River).
However, the internal security council of the Sheikh Maqsoud district rejected the proposal to leave the area, stating that the militants have decided to remain in their neighborhoods and defend them.
The Syrian army has set a new deadline for the Syrian Democratic Forces to leave Aleppo’s Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood, from 16:00 to 18:00 today, announcing that after the deadline expires it will strike previously identified military positions in the area.
