NATO’s Head of the South Caucasus Office, Alexander Vinnikov, stated that the North Atlantic Alliance welcomes the latest developments in the Armenia-Azerbaijan settlement process and supports the steps taken towards a permanent peace agreement.
“We are not directly involved in these processes, but we have always highly appreciated the efforts of our allies. We consider the initialing of the peace agreement in Washington an important step towards sustainable peace, security and unblocking of regional communications. It will also strengthen NATO’s partnership with the countries of the region,” Vinnikov emphasized.
He added that these developments are of great importance for the stability of the Black Sea region.
