“In reality, several things have happened. First, the ban on wheat imports was lifted, initially for Kazakhstan and then for Russia. Next, it was recorded that there are no restrictions on railway traffic in the opposite direction as well, meaning from Armenia outward. Third, Azerbaijan expressed readiness to sell petroleum products to Armenian businesspeople, and that readiness was implemented: the train arrived and the products entered the market. I think it would be strange if we did not express our attitude toward this. And yes, I do express that attitude, and I believe I am doing the right thing. And why in different places? So that it is recorded in different places, because this is also important for the EAEU”, Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said during a government briefing, responding to a question about whether publicly thanking the President of Azerbaijan several times from different platforms for the ongoing developments is a diplomatic tactic.
“We have obtained a railway connection with the EAEU. We have never had a railway connection with the EAEU before. This is the fourth development that has taken place. It is actually very important to assess the scale of what has happened.
I want to show what peace is, and I am showing it and declaring that peace is a reality, and that this peace has concrete manifestations.
I hope that in the near future there will be bilateral trade developments between Armenia and Azerbaijan. At present, there are imports from Azerbaijan to Armenia, and I hope there will also be exports from Armenia to Azerbaijan”, he said.
