Russian President Vladimir Putin and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev had a telephone conversation on Wednesday, which Russian presidential Սpokesman Dmitry Peskov described as very warm and friendly.
The Russian leader congratulated his Azerbaijani counterpart on his birthday and the two sides also exchanged views on the prospects for cooperation between the two countries.
According to the Kremlin press service, the presidents reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the countries' allied relations. The Russian presidential spokesman said that Putin congratulated Aliyev "very warmly." He added that the two sides congratulated each other on the upcoming New Year holidays and exchanged views on the current situation.
