On the occasion of International Human Rights Day, on December 10, a panel discussion on “State institutions, professional communities and media cooperation in promoting equality and preventing discrimination” was held within the framework of the high-level international conference entitled “Ethical Standards in Ensuring Equality and Preventing Discrimination”.
The speakers of the discussion were the Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Armenia, Ms. Anahit Manasyan, the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia, Ms. Srbuhi Galyan, the Chairman of the Television and Radio Commission, Mr. Tigran Hakobyan, the former National Ombudsman of the Republic of Serbia and human rights expert, Mr. Sasa Jankovic, the Head of the News Program of the Public Radio of Armenia, Ms. Liana Yeghiazaryan and the President of “Equal Rights, Equal Opportunities” NGO, Ms. Anush Aslanyan.
The panel discussion was moderated by Ms. Arevik Anapiosyan, Consultant at the UN Resident Coordinator Office in Armenia.
The conference was organized by the Human Rights Defender’s Office within the framework of the European Union funded “ATHENA: Advancing the Human Rights Agenda and Enhancing National Authorities” project, implemented in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme, the United Nations Children’s Fund, and the United Nations Population Fund.
