The High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Zareh Sinanyan, is on a working visit to New York.
As part of his working visit to the United States, High Commissioner Sinanyan met in New York with Armenia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Paruyr Hovhannisyan.
Their discussion focused on opportunities to deepen cooperation with Armenian diaspora communities, increase Armenia’s visibility across international platforms, and more effectively tap into the potential of Armenian communities worldwide.
Ambassador Hovhannisyan highlighted Armenia’s current priorities at the United Nations and outlined ongoing processes within the organization where diaspora engagement and support can play a meaningful role.
High Commissioner Sinanyan presented the key initiatives of the Office of the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs, including current efforts to strengthen Armenia–Diaspora relations and promote repatriation. He emphasized that close coordination with diplomatic missions and sustained international cooperation are crucial for the successful implementation of these programs.
