Armenia's Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan, within the framework of the Zero Waste Forum global conference held in Istanbul, met with Turkey’s Minister of Agriculture and Forestry.
The ministers on both sides emphasized the importance of regular Armenia–Turkey contacts and reaffirmed their readiness to continue the dialogue.
In turn, the Turkish minister highly valued Armenia's Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s recent visit to Turkey, highlighting its positive impact on the development of bilateral relations.
The possibilities of reopening the Kars–Gyumri railway connection, as well as the new economic, logistical, and commercial opportunities emerging for both countries through the TRIP program, were discussed.
During the conversation, reference was made to the possibilities of market diversification, formation of new logistical routes, and expansion of mutual economic interests.
Issues related to cooperation in the field of agriculture were also discussed, particularly regarding agricultural insurance, protection against hail damage, and joint efforts to combat animal diseases.
The meeting was also attended by Nairi Petrosyan, Armenia’s permanent representative to the BSEC.
