Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze met with President of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan, who is on an official visit to Georgia, Georgian Public broadcaster reports.
The face-to-face meeting focused on the long-standing good-neighborly relations between Georgia and Armenia, as well as the positive dynamics in the development of their strategic partnership. The parties emphasized the special importance of peace and stability in the region. Prime Minister Kobakhidze thanked President Khachaturyan for his visit and for his continued support.
“We are pleased to see our relations developing so dynamically. The frequent exchange of high-level visits is clear proof of this. Thank you for coming to Georgia - your personal support is very important to us. Our cooperation spans many sectors and continues to deepen, both politically and economically. We maintain very close cooperation with the Armenian government, and we are confident that, at this pace, we will achieve even greater success in further strengthening our relations,” said Irakli Kobakhidze.
The President of Armenia expressed his gratitude to the Georgian government for the warm reception and highlighted the commitment to further deepening bilateral relations.
“Many thanks to the Georgian government for the warm welcome. I arrived yesterday, yet I already feel as though I have been here for a long time. This reflects the attention shown to us and the atmosphere created here. I am certain that this is also the result of the strong personal relationship and reliable partnership between our countries’ leaders. High-level meetings such as this one strengthen our ties and open new opportunities. We are doing everything to support the further strengthening and deepening of our bilateral relations. Rest assured that Armenia’s attitude and approach will remain unchanged. Our shared aspiration is peace and stability in the region and internal political stability. I believe the people of both Georgia and Armenia will recognize and appreciate the efforts of our governments, which are aimed at safeguarding the sovereignty and independence of our countries,” said Vahagn Khachaturyan.
Following the face-to-face meeting, the Prime Minister of Georgia, together with members of the government, hosted President Khachaturian and his delegation for an official dinner.

“We are doing everything we can to support the strengthening and deepening of bilateral relations, and you can be assured that there will be no change in the attitudes and approaches of the Armenian side,” Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan said during a face-to-face meeting with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.
According to President Khachaturyan, Georgia and Armenia share a common desire for peace and stability in the region.
