Armenia's Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan attended the Digital Dialogue: Estonia–Armenia seminar held at the A. Spendiaryan National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre in Yerevan.
Speaker of Parliament Alen Simonyan, Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council Artur Atabekyan, Deputy Prime Ministers Mher Grigoryan and Tigran Khachatryan, Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister’s Office Arayik Harutyunyan, Digital Transformation Adviser at the e-Estonia Briefing Centre Petra Holm, as well as other government officials, legislators, and academics attended the event, the Prime Minister’s Office said in a press release.
Prime Minister Pashinyan welcomed the participants of the seminar, noting that the development of the digitalization sector in Armenia is among the government’s priorities. He spoke about the need to implement revolutionary changes in this field and, in that context, emphasized the importance of developing expert potential.
Pashinyan mentioned that the idea of organizing the seminar originated during his official visit to Estonia on April 27–28 of this year, when he visited the e-Estonia Briefing Centre in Tallinn.
The Prime Minister emphasized that after familiarizing himself with the activities of the centre, Estonia’s digitalization and e-governance structure, as well as the programs implemented and planned in this field—and recognizing the importance of experience exchange and joint projects with Estonia—he instructed Armenia’s Ministry of High-Tech Industry to organize the visit of Petra Holm, Digital Transformation Adviser at the e-Estonia Briefing Centre, to Armenia.
“Therefore, we have gathered here today to learn from Petra Holm how digitalization works in Estonia—which, as you know, is considered a global leader in this field—and to draw useful insights from her presentation,” Pashinyan said, expressing hope that the event will significantly contribute to the effective implementation of Armenia’s digitalization agenda.
Petra Holm delivered a presentation outlining Estonia’s internationally recognized experience in the fields of digitalization and e-governance, as well as the programs that have been implemented. The expert then took questions from the audience.
