“Searches have been conducted at the residences of Irakli Garibashvili, Grigol Liluashvili, Otar Partskhaladze, and other individuals connected to them, eight in total,” the Prosecutor General, Giorgi Gvarakidze, announced at a briefing held at the Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia, Georgian Public Broadcaster reports.
According to him, various electronic devices, documentation, and large sums of money have been seized.
“As part of ongoing investigations into various criminal cases at the Anti-Corruption and State Security Departments of the State Security Service of Georgia (SSSG), a large-scale operation was carried out simultaneously at 22 locations across the country from 10:00 this morning.
As part of the joint operation, searches were carried out at the residences, houses, and on the persons of Georgia’s former Prime Minister, Irakli Garibashvili; the former head of the State Security Service, Grigol Liluashvili; former Prosecutor General Otar Partskhaladze; and a total of eight individuals connected to them.
Various electronic devices, documents, and substantial sums of money have been seized. Investigative, procedural, and operational search measures are actively underway in connection with the aforementioned cases,” stated Giorgi Gvarakidze.
