Based on the preliminary results of the Central Election Commission (CEC), Kakha Kaladze is leading in the Tbilisi mayoral elections with 71.55 percent. Kaladze has been re-elected as the mayor of the capital for a third term, Georgian Public Broadcaster reports.
According to the CEC, votes from 584 of 572 polling stations are counted, which constitutes 97.94% of the total number of polling stations.
Based on the CEC data, the votes were distributed among the Tbilisi mayoral candidates as follows:
Kakha Kaladze – 71.55%;
Irakli Kupradze – 12.45%
Iago Khvichia – 7.52%
Zurab Makharadze – 4.12%.
Nine candidates have been registered for the Tbilisi mayoral elections.
Preliminary data from the Central Election Commission shows that the Georgian Dream party received 70.15% of the vote in the Tbilisi City Council elections. According to the same preliminary results, the party also won local self-government elections in all regions.
