Armenian Minister of Finance Vahe Hovhannisyan has commented on the interim report by the Fitch Ratings regarding the outcomes of the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
According to the Ministry of Finance, Minister Hovhannisyan noted:
"The Fitch Ratings one of the most prominent international rating agencies, recently published an interim report stating that the risks of a resumption of conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan have decreased. The peace agreement is expected to contribute to the improvement of Armenia's creditworthiness in the medium term, the revitalization of trade through alternative routes via Turkey, and the development of economic growth not only in Armenia but also across the entire region."
He added that Fitch has effectively reaffirmed Armenia’s forecasts of economic growth, as well as reduced currency fluctuations and fiscal risks in the medium term due to lower geopolitical risks.
"These positive developments open up new opportunities for attracting international investment and enhance Armenia's credibility. We await the responses of other rating agencies," Hovhannisyan said.
