On June 28, at 01:40 local time (June 27, at 21:40 GMT), the seismological network of the Seismic Protection Territorial Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia recorded an earthquake of magnitude 2.9 with a depth of 10 km, 8 km north of the town of Spitak, Armenia, at geographical coordinates of 40.90⁰ north latitude and 44.28⁰ east longitude.
The intensity of the tremor in the epicenter zone was 4 points.
The earthquake was felt in the town of Spitak, Lori province, as well as in the villages of Lernapat, Arjut, Arevashogh, Darpas and Gogaran, with a magnitude of 2-3 points.
