Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met with Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Secretary-General Nurlan Yermekbayev.
They discussed the partnership between Armenia and the SCO and were pleased to note the active dialogue and the progress made regarding Armenia's dialogue partner status, the foreign ministry said in a press release.
FM Mirzoyan emphasized Armenia's commitment to enhancing its involvement in the organization.
He highlighted that Armenia's approach to establishing peace in the South Caucasus is aligned with the fundamental principles upon which the SCO was founded, including respect for territorial integrity and the inviolability of borders.
Both sides emphasized the importance of enhancing regional interconnectivity and strengthening economic ties under current conditions. In this context, FM Mirzoyan presented the Armenian government's "Crossroads of Peace" project, which has already been endorsed by several SCO member states.
