Israel has been carrying out a fourth consecutive night of strikes on strategic Iranian targets. Early Monday morning, June 16, the Israel Defense Forces reported strikes on surface-to-surface missile depots in central Iran, as well as several command centers of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in Tehran. Last night, Israel said it had struck dozens of targets in western Iran believed to be holding surface-to-surface missiles. The airport in the northeastern city of Mashhad was also targeted.
For its part, Iran launched new missile attacks on the morning of June 16. According to the Israeli ambulance service, four people were killed and 87 were injured in the strikes in central Israel. AFP published footage of burning residential buildings in Tel Aviv and fires on the outskirts of the coastal city of Haifa. Loud explosions were heard in Jerusalem. The IRGC threatened to carry out “more devastating” strikes on Israeli targets.
