In addition to the statement released on June 6, the National Security Service of Armenia (NSS) reports:
“After the two minor residents of Tegh community in Syunik province were found, interviews with them revealed that they got lost while searching for their ruminants and were unable to find their way around due to fog. The information about their kidnapping by Azerbaijanis is not true.”
The Tegh community administration reported on its Facebook page that the minor residents of the community, Karen Jhangiryan and Andrey Gyagunts, who got lost, are in Tegh community.
“The boys are in good health,” the community administration reported.
The National Security Service has confirmed that the minors who went missing from Syunik province are now in Armenia.
“In addition to the statement released today, we would like to inform you that the minor residents of the Tegh community of Syunik province, who went missing, have been found and are now in the Republic of Armenia. We will provide additional information later,” the National Security Service reported.
The minors who crossed from Syunik province to Azerbaijan are already in Armenia, the head of the Tegh community, Davit Ghulunts, told “Lurer”.
Earlier the National Security Service had issued a statement saying that two minor residents of the Syunik province had gotten lost and ended up in the territory of Azerbaijan.
According to the department, according to the information received, residents of the Tegh community of the Syunik provicne of the Republic of Armenia Karen Armen Jhangiryan (born 27.06.2007) and Andrey Armen Gyagunts (born 13.01.2008) on June 6, 2025, at around 01:20, in the area adjacent to the village of Aravus in the Syunik province, ended up in the territory of Azerbaijan as a result of getting lost in the terrain.
The National Security Service noted that all necessary measures are being taken to determine the whereabouts of the citizens and ensure their safe return.
A criminal case has been initiated in connection with the appearance of minor children on the Azerbaijani side. This was reported by the Investigative Committee in response to a request from 1Lurer.am.
“A criminal case has been initiated on the basis of the features of kidnapping,” the Investigative Committee noted.
