Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmyhal has agreed with his French counterpart François Bayrou at a meeting in Paris on the provision of additional 200 million euros to Ukraine to support restoration projects and integration with the European market, Ukrainian media said, citing Shmyhal's statement on a social network, Interfax reports.
The French government reaffirmed the provision of guarantees in the form of export credit insurance totaling 1.5 billion euros, Shmyhal said.
France remains a strategic partner of Kyiv, he said. Paris has provided Ukraine with 2 billion euros in direct budget assistance alone since the beginning of the crisis.
Shmyhal also met with Director General of the French Development Agency (AFD) Remy Rioux, the media said.
"We are grateful to the AFD for the initiatives aimed to upgrade energy facilities, water supply, roads, hospitals and schools. We also appreciate urban development efforts funded by the AFD," Shmyhal said.
The AFD has provided 400 million euros to Kyiv since the beginning of the crisis, he said.
"We have 19 joint projects at this point and hope for further development of our cooperation," Shmyhal said.
