President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to Armenia, Alessandro Ferranti, on the occasion of the Italian National Day.
According to the Presidential Office, welcoming the Ambassador, President Khachaturyan stated:
“I warmly congratulate you on this special day, which symbolizes freedom and democracy for the Italian people. Italy is known worldwide as a country that upholds civilizational values. The impact that Italy has had on the history and cultural development of humanity is invaluable.
The ties between Armenia and Italy, and between our peoples, are rooted in a deep and ancient history. Today, Italy holds special significance for Armenia. Our relations are based on the shared values we uphold. I am confident that you are guided by this very principle in your mission, contributing to the rapprochement of our countries and peoples.”
Ambassador Ferranti expressed his gratitude for the reception, stating:
“Mr. President, I would like to express my deep appreciation for your time and warm welcome. Nearly four months have passed since I had the honor of presenting my credentials to you. Today, I convey to you the best wishes and sincere words of friendship from President Mattarella.
The kind words you shared during our first meeting were truly inspiring. Over the past months, I have held numerous positive and productive meetings with representatives of Armenian state institutions, organizations, and institutions. I have personally experienced the depth and strength of the friendly ties between our peoples.”
During the meeting, the sides discussed the Armenia- Italy bilateral agenda and potential areas for expanding cooperation. The Ambassador presented recent developments in economic collaboration, highlighting the establishment of an Italian Foreign Trade Office within the Embassy to boost business ties between the two countries.
Ambassador Ferranti also addressed several upcoming initiatives aimed at deepening economic cooperation and creating new opportunities. Both sides expressed satisfaction with the growing tourism between Armenia and Italy, viewing it as a reflection of mutual interest and trust.
The conversation also touched on opportunities to share Italy’s successful experience in education, culture, high technology, and related fields. Cooperation in the preservation and restoration of cultural heritage was also discussed.
The Ambassador assured that Italy is making consistent efforts to make the Schengen visa issuance process more accessible and convenient for Armenian citizens.
