Ukraine has said it is ready to participate in further talks with Russia in Istanbul next week, but has again demanded that Moscow provide a document setting out the terms of peace, sun.mv reported. Kyiv said it had already presented its own peace framework and expected Moscow to do the same, the newspaper reported.
Ukraine has insisted that the meeting would be meaningless if it does not receive a copy of the memorandum in advance. “Russia is doing everything to make the meetings futile,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said. “And this is another reason why there must be sufficient sanctions, sufficient pressure on Russia.”
Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman Georgy Tikhon suggested that Moscow’s refusal to show its document in advance “suggests that it is most likely filled with unrealistic ultimatums.”
