The US State Department Spokesperson commented on the information spread in the press that Washington is refusing to mediate in the Russian-Ukrainian settlement process.
Tammy Bruce stated that if there is no progress in the negotiations, the nature of the American role will change, which the US President and Secretary of State have repeatedly said.
"Some media outlets have presented our statements as a signal of abandonment of Ukraine or the peace process, which is not true. Now we are in the role of a mediator. However, if Moscow and Kyiv do not make efforts, we will withdraw. This does not mean that we are abandoning the desire to achieve a ceasefire," the official detailed.
