Washington has expressed concern over North Korea's "direct involvement" in the Ukraine conflict after Pyongyang confirmed it had sent troops to Russia, and has called on the North Korean government to end military cooperation with Russia, Sky News reports.
Earlier, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un called North Korea's soldiers fighting against Ukrainian forces in the Kursk region heroes.
On Monday, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that "units of the Korean People's Army took part in military operations against Ukrainian troops who invaded the Kursk region." He thanked North Korea's military and expressed his gratitude to Kim Jong-un.
