The Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs continues to manipulate procedural decisions adopted in legal processes. Armenia has constantly informed international courts about violations of the rights of Armenian prisoners of war and detainees held in Azerbaijan, including violations of procedural rights. This is stated on the Facebook page of Armenia's Representative for International Legal Matters.
“The last such information was transmitted to the International Court of Justice on April 18, also requesting the application of additional measures in accordance with Rule 78 of the Rules of the Court, in addition to those already applied. The Court had requested to submit detailed information in response to Armenia’s request, which was complied with by Azerbaijan. As a result, the Court recorded that “at this stage of the examination of the case” there is no need to apply additional measures.
Azerbaijan is also silent about the obligations it has implemented and is currently implementing in the framework of the ongoing proceedings at the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR). Azerbaijan also does not mention the decisions by which the ECHR, also based on the arguments presented by Armenia, rejects the claims periodically submitted by Azerbaijan, which are aimed at the abolition of interim measures.
Armenia will continuously submit information on violations to international courts within the framework of the ongoing proceedings,” the statement reads.
