Armenian Parliament Speaker Alen Simonyan issued a message on 110th Anniversary of Armenian Genocide. The message reads:
Dear compatriots,
April 24 is one of the hard and sad days of our national memory. On this day, we commemorate the memory of one and a half million innocent Armenians, who became just a victim of genocide for being Armenian.
The Armenian Genocide is a deep wound of history, which today is still heard in the voice of justice. Our commitment is to build united, strong and peaceful Armenia based on past lessons and aimed at a stable future. We do not forget what happened, but we also do not want the memory only to become a source of pain and mourning. It must make us more decisive and far-sighted in our further steps.
We bow to the memory of all the martyrs and have a new obligation to protect our statehood, appreciate peace and ensure a worthy future for our generations.
Eternal glory to the memory of the innocent victims.
