April 24 marks the 110th anniversary of one of the most tragic events of the first half of the 20th century — the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire, stated Maria Zakharova, Spokesperson of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during a briefing.
"In Russia, we have always regarded the grief of the brotherly Armenian people as our own," said the diplomat.
Zakharova recalled that Russia was one of the first countries to recognize the Armenian Genocide.
