A historic opportunity for a settlement between Armenia and Azerbaijan has been created, the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister said. He expressed confidence that direct negotiations between Baku and Yerevan are the most effective method of resolving the existing problems.
According to Jeyhun Bayramov, the finalization of the text of the peace treaty is the result of the efforts of Armenia and Azerbaijan. “The signing of the document will be the final stage of the peace process,” the diplomat noted.
At the same time, Bayramov once again accused Armenia of allegedly having territorial claims against Azerbaijan. He also stressed the need to dissolve the OSCE Minsk Group and accused the Armenian side of allegedly refusing to do so. Meanwhile, Yerevan has repeatedly stated its readiness to sign the application for the dissolution of the Minsk Group and the peace treaty simultaneously.
