On March 19, the Chair of the NA Standing Committee on Territorial Administration, Local Self-Government, Agriculture and Environment Protection Vahe Ghalumyan, Committee members Mikayel Tumasyan and Davit Danielyan met with the FRG Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to our country Claudia Busch.
Welcoming the Ambassador in parliament, Vahe Ghalumyan highlighted the deepening of parliamentary relations with Germany, expressed willingness to promote the development of cooperation in different spheres within his powers.
The MP highly assessed the role of Germany in the process of establishing peace with Azerbaijan.
Speaking about the enhancing cooperation with the European Union, the Committee Chair noted that Armenia is determined to join the European family. “We are ready "We are ready to quickly respond to all issues within the National Assembly in the near future in order to advance that process,” Vahe Ghalumyan underscored.
At the meeting reference was made to legislative reforms regarding the enlargement of communities and the implementation of the proportional electoral system. It was noted that at the moment the focus of the committee’s attention is on the issues of self-financing of communities and improving their own incomes.
The sides discussed the rapprochement of Armenia-European Union relations, the deepening of cooperation in the economic sphere, as well as issues of bilateral interest.
