Japan welcomed announcements made by Armenia and Azerbaijan, Japanese Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
“Japan welcomes the announcements made by the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan on March 13 (same day local time), respectively, regarding agreement on a draft of the peace treaty.
The final settlement of the conflict between the two countries is crucial for peace and stability in the Caucasus region.
Japan hopes that the peace treaty agreed upon by the two sides will be signed at the earliest date and that the issues surrounding the region will be resolved peacefully and permanently”, the statement reads.
