Turkey's President Recep Erdogan spoke at the opening ceremony of the Igdir-Nakhijevan pipeline, calling the pipeline “a symbol of the inseparability of the destinies of Turkey and the Nakhijevan Autonomous Republic.”
He noted that the 80-kilometer gas pipeline built by BOTAŞ is designed to supply up to 2 million cubic meters of gas per day, and the operation of the pipeline will ensure Nakhijevan’s energy security for at least 30 years. The President said that Ankara is planning new steps to support Nakhijevan, particularly in the field of electricity supply.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Igdir-Nakhijevan gas pipeline, Erdogan also noted that Ankara and Baku support stability, cooperation and prosperity in the region.
"Our countries only want one thing: peace, and to date we have taken many steps towards peace and regional development," the Turkish President said.
