The Chair of the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations of the RA National Assembly Sargis Khandanyan met with the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk in Kyiv.
During the private conversation, Ruslan Stefanchuk, welcoming Sargis Khandanyan’s visit to Ukraine, highlighted the development of inter-parliamentary ties between the two countries, in particular, the importance of mutual visits between the friendship groups operating in the two parliaments.
On behalf of the RA National Assembly Sargis Khandanyan expressed his support to his colleagues of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for their courageous actions in difficult conditions for the country and stressed the importance of the joint work on inter-parliamentary platforms. He presented the security challenges around Armenia, the foreign policy priorities of Armenia, and the details of the Armenia-Azerbaijan and Armenia-Turkey negotiation processes to the Head of the Ukrainian Parliament. Reference was also made to the Crossroads of Peace project presented by the Government of Armenia.
Emphasizing the strengthening of the regional peace and stability, Ruslan Stefanchuk expressed his unconditional support for the preservation of the territorial integrity of the Republic of Armenia and the path of democratic development.
Sargis Khadanyan left for Ukraine to take part in the meeting of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Bureau.
