Reuters. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan was welcomed with an honour guard ceremony and a fly-past by Pakistani Air Force jets as he arrived on Thursday (February 13) at Islamabad’s Prime Minister House.
Erdogan is in Pakistan for a two-day visit and was met by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at the steps of the Prime Minister House, where they will hold a bilateral meeting.
Later in the day, both leaders will co-chair a meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council (HLSCC), focusing on strengthening the bilateral relations between the two countries, according to a statement by Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry.
Turkey and Pakistan have traditionally had close ties.
