US President Donald Trump's national security adviser Michael Waltz has refused to comment on reports of a phone call between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"I'm not going to get ahead of the President, there are certainly a lot of sensitive conversations going on," Waltz said in an interview with NBC.
When asked directly by a reporter whether he could answer "yes" or "no" about the conversation between the leaders of the two countries, Waltz declined to comment.
"I'm not going to go into details," he said.
Earlier, the New York Post reported that US President Donald Trump had a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The parties discussed ending the conflict in Ukraine.
Later, Russian President Vladimir Putin's press secretary Dmitry Peskov said in a comment to Izvestia that he could neither confirm nor deny the information about a phone conversation between Putin and Trump.
