Russia is disappointed by the closure of the Russian House in Baku, Russian presidential spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said, RIA Novosti reports.
Earlier, it was reported that Azerbaijan officially sent a note to the Russian side on the termination of the activities of the Russian House in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, as of Monday.
“We are disappointed by this. We believe that this is a misunderstanding that can be resolved through bilateral contacts,” Peskov told reporters.
Earlier, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry reported that the Russian House in Baku is not registered as a legal entity, which contradicts the country's legislation. Baku notified Moscow that the activities of the Russian Information and Cultural Center may be suspended within 1.5 months.
The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, stated that the Russian side is ready to cooperate and resolve the issue.
