The Islamic Republic of Iran considers Armenia and its people as friends. Over the past decades, Iran has consistently supported Armenia’s growth and strengthening, and the relations between the two countries have gradually reached the necessary level of maturity and depth. Today, there is mutual understanding in our bilateral relations, and what was once a sapling of cooperation has grown into a strong tree. Iran’s Ambassador to Armenia, Mehdi Sobhani, stated this during a press conference.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran considers the establishment of lasting peace and stability in the region as one of its key commitments. Iran firmly opposes to changes in international borders, geopolitical shifts, and the use of force to resolve regional issues. Iran strongly supports the territorial integrity of countries, particularly Armenia. The creation of false narratives, threats, and misleading videos cannot undermine the strong relations between our two countries or sow division and doubt between us,” he said.
According to the Iranian ambassador, excellent results were achieved between the two countries last year. The construction of the road to Kajaran has begun, the third power transmission line is nearing completion, and diplomatic visits, mutual understanding, and shared perceptions have prevented “the enemies of our relations from creating doubts and misunderstandings.”
“We continue to follow this right path. The future of our countries' relations is very clear, and no one can divert it,” he said, concluding in Armenian: “Long live Armenia, long live Iran.”
