It is wrong to say that visa liberalization will change everything, but it is a symbolic step. This is a road we will walk both ways. Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg Xavier Bettel, said this at a joint press conference with Armenia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Ararat Mirzoyan, answering the question regarding the liberalization of Armenia-EU visas.
According to Bettel, visa liberalization will make it easier to go from one country to another. It will be less expensive. Apart from that, visa liberalization is also symbolic in nature, that is, it is one step in the direction of establishing closer relations.
“Economy, business are important, but it is very important for people to know that they are one step closer to the European Union.
We are bringing people, peoples closer with the issue of the liberalization of entry permits, and that is very important, and, in particular, to say welcome to the Armenian people,” concluded the speech of the Luxembourg Foreign Minister.
