Four-time European champion and three-time World Championship bronze medalist, freestyle wrestler Arsen Harutyunyan, secured a spot in the Olympic quarterfinals after defeating Mexican wrestler Roman Bravo-Young with a score of 13-3 in the 1/8 finals.
This marks Harutyunyan's second participation in the Olympic Games.
Earlier Greco-Roman wrestler Artur Aleksanyan, Olympic gold, silver, and bronze medalist, four-time world champion, and seven-time European champion in the 97 kg category, became an Olympic silver medalist for the second time in his career.
Additionally, Greco-Roman wrestler Malkhas Amoyan, world champion, three-time European champion, competing in the 77 kg category, won a bronze medal at the Paris Olympic Games.
At this point, Armenia has secured three medals at the Paris Olympic Games.
