Unmanned aerial vehicles have attacked two settlements in Russia’s borderline Belgorod Region, one local resident was killed and two were injured, the head of the region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, said. "Ukrainian drones attacked two settlements in the Shebekinsky Urban District. According to preliminary reports, there were no casualties. In the settlement of Krasnoye, six two-apartment houses and two private houses suffered damage to their roofs, windows, interior decoration, facades and fences after a drone dropped explosive devices on them," he wrote on Telegram.
According to Gladkov, a drone explosion caused the roof of a private house to catch fire in the settlement of Rzhevka; the blaze was quickly put out.
A drone attack caused an oil depot in Russia’s southern Volgograd Region to catch fire; firefighting activities involve two fire trains, the regional branch of Russian Railways company said in a statement.
Earlier, the regional administration reported, citing Governor Andrey Bocharov, that a drone attack had been foiled in the Volgograd Region. Falling drone fragments caused a substation in the town of Frolovo and an oil depot in the town of Kalach-on-Don to catch fire. According to preliminary reports, there were no casualties.
Russian air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 38 drones over the Astrakhan, Belgorod, Kursk, Rostov and Voronezh regions last night, Russia’s Defense Ministry reported.
Flights to and from Astrakhan Airport in southern Russia have been suspended following drone attacks, the airport spokesperson told TASS.
