The Palestinian Foreign Ministry welcomed the statement of the Armenian Foreign Ministry on recognizing Palestine as an independent state.
The department stressed the depth of historical and fraternal relations between the Armenian and Palestinian peoples, stressing that the recognition of the Palestinian state, which expresses the authenticity of historical relations, is consistent with international law and all relevant UN resolutions.
The Palestinian Foreign Ministry considers Armenia's decision a real contribution to peace and a practical step to support the internationally accepted two-state solution, as well as efforts to establish stability and peace in the Middle East region.
