Artsakh President Arayik Harutyunyan welcomed the statement made by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz during the press conference with Armenia’s Prime Minister yesterday. The chancellor noted that the Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) issue should be resolved on the basis of the territorial integrity of Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as “the principle of the right to self-determination of the people of Nagorno-Karabakh”. The chancellor noted that for Germany those two principles are equal.
“We welcome Olaf Scholz’s statement that the conflict should be settled peacefully on the basis of equal principles of territorial integrity and right to self-determination of the Nagorno-Karabakh people. Settlement is impossible without fully considering our fundamental/collective rights,” Harutyunyan tweeted.
