The servicemen of the Russian peacekeeping contingent ensured the safety of workers while carrying out road construction works in the Shushi region of Nagorno-Karabakh.
At the moment, while ensuring security, the specialists of the humanitarian response center have already restored about 10 km of the road along the line of demarcation of the sides in Nagorno-Karabakh.
“At the moment, measures are being taken to ensure the safety of road works. Thanks to the Russian peacekeeping contingent, road workers can safely restore the road. Due to the fact that this territory is located near the line of demarcation of the sides, the administration appealed to the command of the Russian peacekeeping contingent with a request to ensure the safety of road works,” said Danil Nikitin, a spokesman for the Russian peacekeeping contingent.
To fulfill the tasks of ensuring security in remote areas of Nagorno-Karabakh, a schedule is being drawn up, according to which the Russian peacekeepers work out the requests received through the public reception of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in the city of Stepanakert.
Specialists of the Russian Center for Humanitarian Response perform various tasks to ensure security in the region, including civilians during agricultural, engineering and preventive work, as well as when pilgrims visit monastic complexes located near the contact line in Nagorno-Karabakh.
