Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Bagheri will pay an official visit to Pakistan on Tuesday in a bid to develop military and defense diplomacy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, ISNA reports.
Heading a high-ranking military, security and defense delegation, General Bagheri will depart for Islamabad upon an invitation by Pakistan’s Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa, during which he will meet with a number of top political, security, and military officials in Pakistan.
During his stay in Islamabad, general Bagheri will also hold talks with Pakistan's prime minister, army chief, chief of staff of the armed forces, as well as certain military officials.
The Iranian delegation is going to pay visits to Karachi in southern Pakistan and some marine and military headquarters.
This visit to the eastern neighboring country is in line with strengthening military, defense, and security collaborations between the two important Muslim nations.
Bagheri's visit to Pakistan is of great importance because of growing military, security, and defense ties between Islamabad and Tehran in recent years.
