At a government session in Turkey today, President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan said he was deeply saddened by US president Joe Biden’s recognition of the Armenian Genocide. He reiterated his stance that “the issue should be resolved by historians, not politicians.”
“Biden used the word unjust for events that took place more than a century ago, which are not based on history. These issues should be addressed by historians, not politicians.
The West is hypocritical about the Armenian issue and terrorist organizations,” Erdogan said in a televised address after the cabinet meeting.
The President of Turkey has once again put forward the tortured thesis of “opening the archives” and advised the United States: “Look at yourself.”
According to Turkish media, the Turkish parliament will also make a statement this week.
