‘Memorial trilogy’: state events on Armenian Genocide anniversary known

Armenia State Events Preparation and Organizing Committee, headed by the Prime Minister’s Chief Adviser Arayik Harutyunyan, discussed and approved the April 23-24 events.
 
Harutyunyan stated at the press conference that within the framework of the ‘Memorial trilogy’ events, on April 23, at 23:00 o’clock, Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra and the State Academic Choir of Armenia will perform Giuseppe Verdi’s ‘Requiem’ at the Genocide Museum-Institute. The concert will be conducted by Eduard Topchyan. It will be broadcast live.
 
On the night of April 23-24, at midnight, the State Chamber Choir of Armenia and the Hover State Chamber Choir will perform Mozart’s ‘Requiem’ at the Komitas Chamber Music Hall. The concert will be conducted by German-based conductor Alexander Iradian.
 
On April 24, at 7:15 pm, Tigran Mansuryan’s ‘Requiem’ performed by the Armenian National Symphony Orchestra and the State Chamber Choir of Armenia (conductor - Robert Mlkeyan) will be performed at the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concert Complex. Members of diplomatic missions accredited in Armenia will take part in the event. The concert will take place under the auspices of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
 
On April 21, at 12:00, a temporary exhibition entitled ‘In the Footsteps of Armenian Genocide Survivors’ will be organized at the Genocide Museum-Institute. The exhibition will run until September 10.
 
On April 27, a traditional flower-picking ceremony will take place, the bent flowers will be collected and paper will be made from their petals, which, as always, is used to send letters of thanks.
 
Harutyunyan said that on April 24 a number of roads will be closed, in particular, from the Victory Bridge to the two-way section of Leningradyan Street, the section from the upper part of Verfel Street to Brazil Square.
 
On April 24, from 9:00 to 10:00, the entrance to the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial will be temporarily closed due to the visit of official delegations.
 
On April 24, there will be a free route from Hrazdan Stadium in two directions, one to ‘Zoravar Andranik’ metro station and the other to ‘Barekamutyun’ station.
 
The Yerevan metro will be open until 01:00 am on April 24-25.
 
Martha Ayvazyan, Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, informed that on April 24 the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia will organize an exhibition in the lobby of Yerevan Municipality for members of diplomatic missions, as well as for citizens, dedicated to the preservation of historical and cultural monuments in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh). The exhibition will be entitled ‘Endangered Heritage’. More than 100 photos, handmade carpets and rugs will be displayed, which will show the endangered heritage of Artsakh. The exhibition will be open from April 25 to May 2.
