On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of Public TV Company of Armenia President Serzh Sargsyan has today visited the company. Accompanied by the Public TV Company senior staff, the president has toured around the company facilities.
On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of Public TV Company of Armenia President Serzh Sargsyan has today visited the company. Accompanied by the Public TV Company senior staff, the president has toured around the company facilities.
During the anniversary celebration a reference was made on the new project entitled “Almighty Singer”, being broadcast on Public TV, which has been met with public discussions and criticism.
Chairman of the Council of Public TV and Radio Company of Armenia Ruben Jaghinyan stated the given program was not intended for the purpose as has lately been perceived as, yet it is aimed at presenting different genres: folk, classical, jazz and other genres among them. As the program has not been perceived correctly, thus becoming a topic for public discussions and criticism, therefore, Public TV Company will pay a closer attention to public feedback, keeping finger on the pulse of the society, thus justifying their expectations from the Public TV.
President Sargsyan has stressed the importance, prior to preparing a program to consult with distinguished and honorable professionals in the sphere, who enjoy popularity among the public, to convene meetings and hold discussions with them, thus getting to know their preferences and attempting to understand public interests.
On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Public TV President Sargsyan has awarded medals and honorary titles to a group of Public TV employees for their contribution in the field of culture, as well as for their long term and effective work.
During the anniversary celebration the President has also handed high state awards, as well as congratulated on Public TV’s 60th jubilee.
“Ladies and Gentlemen, dear specialists of Public TV, or as Mrs. Shlepchyan would say –dear friends. Indeed, you are dear friends, since for the past 60 years you have been an indispensable member at our homes, filling our evenings by presenting interesting facts, raising awareness among us, as well as teaching to appreciate our reality. For so many years, together with us you have shared our joy and sorrow. I would like to express special gratitude to those employees who know their work perfectly well and do the latter with high sense of responsibility. I would also like thank those people who help to create good things, yet remaining in the backstage.
The new TV season is a jubilee one. Today we are celebrating a holiday. As you can see now, there are still people who continue working behind the cameras – people, whom we do not see, do not recognize, yet enjoy the works done by them.”
Serzh Sargsyan has also pointed out, during the Soviet period, thanks to the high professionalism of Armenian TV specialists, the Armenian TV had a high rating in the Soviet Union. Following the independence, given the hard times the TV company had to face, the latter did not lack warmth and dedication and kept on bringing joy to our homes.
Nevertheless, the president believes, one should continue developing in order to become the first or continue being the first. “Once again, I congratulate you all, as well as me, on this special day – 60th season of Public TV Company. I am grateful to you for the work done. Keep ahead!” the President summed up his congratulatory speech.
