“Now we have bilateral trade, something that would have been simply impossible to imagine three or four years ago. Now we are purchasing some goods from Azerbaijan.” Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan said this in response to a journalist’s question about Armenia-Azerbaijan relations following the ceremony awarding the Hessian Peace Prize in Wiesbaden.
“Azerbaijan, in turn, imports certain goods from Armenia. And the Azerbaijani railway has been open to Armenia since November 2025 for export and import purposes.
And now we have dialogue. We are engaged in dialogue, which is very important. We are also cooperating. Of course, this does not mean that there are no longer disagreements in different areas.
But the way to address all disagreements is through dialogue, and that dialogue already exists. It creates new opportunities to gradually reduce the disagreements.
You know, achieving peace is not easy. But it is a worthy mission, because the feeling of peace is completely different, and it truly represents a significant change.
And, of course, peace is the political goal for which it is truly worth making efforts. It is very important to emphasize this.
And it is very important not to take peace for granted. Because if we do not take care of peace, it can be damaged and eventually disappear. Therefore, we must work every day to preserve peace.
This is our approach. And, by the way, this was one of the first ideas I shared with the citizens of Armenia after August 8, 2025, when I addressed our people on the occasion of the Washington peace summit.
