The U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security has announced that more than 3 million illegal immigrants have left the United States since the beginning of 2025.
According to Markwayne Mullin, the number of arrests of illegal migrants continues to increase, with the department setting new records for daily arrests almost every day. The official specified that of the 3 million, 1.6 million immigrants were deported from the United States through the efforts of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, while another 1.4 million left voluntarily by taking advantage of the government's financial assistance program.
Mullin added that about 70 percent of the illegal immigrants arrested each day are individuals who have committed crimes. According to the secretary, inspections also identified 250,000 individuals who are not U.S. citizens. The names of 400,000 deceased individuals who had been registered to vote were also identified.
Earlier, ahead of the U.S. congressional midterm elections scheduled for November, Donald Trump had spoken about the vulnerability of the American electoral system.
"The United States' adversaries, including at least Russia, China, Iran, and North Korea, have the capability to damage U.S. election infrastructure," the White House chief had said.
Trump also added that China had unlawfully gained access to the data of 220 million American voters and had attempted to interfere with his re-election. Moscow and Beijing denied all the allegations.
