The RA NA Standing Committee on Foreign endorsed the draft law On Ratifying the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the Mutual Provision of Land for the Construction of Buildings of Diplomatic Representations of the Republic of Armenia in the Republic of Kazakhstan and of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Republic of Armenia.
The Agreement was signed on November 21, 2025. By the document, the Armenian side provides the Kazakh side with a land plot of 0.33 hectares in Yerevan, free from buildings and transit routes, for use for a period of 49 years, for the construction of buildings and structures of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan at the expense of the Kazakh side. The amount of land rent is one dram per year.
The Kazakh side provides the Armenian side with a land plot of 0.33 hectares in Astana, free from buildings and transit routes, for use for a period of 49 years, for the construction of buildings and structures of the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia at the expense of the Armenian side. The amount of land rent is one tenge per year.
The mentioned Agreement will promote the deepening of bilateral political dialogue and practical cooperation between Armenia and Kazakhstan, as well as the increase of the efficiency of the activities of diplomatic missions. It ensures reciprocity, equal conditions and a harmonious approach, clearly regulating the rights and obligations of the sides, specifying the purposes of using land plots.
The ratification of the Agreement will contribute to the expansion of diplomatic presence between the two countries and ensuring more favorable conditions.
The mutual land allocations being implemented will enable both sides to ensure the necessary conditions for the location of diplomatic missions, construction and operation of buildings.
The RA Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Mnatsakan Safaryan presented for debate the draft law at the extraordinary sitting of July 1.
The issue will be debated at the NA extraordinary session to be convened on July 2.
