At the meeting held in Gabala, we raised the issue of Armenian narratives circulating in Azerbaijani state media, said Narek Minasyan, an associate expert at the Armenian Council analytical center, during a press conference.
“The discussion was quite pluralistic, and at the very least we recorded the fact that there are certain differences in two aspects, particularly the first being state narratives or the rhetoric used by high-ranking officials.
If we compare or conduct a simple monitoring between the situation a year ago and the situation today, we see that there are certain positive trends in both quantitative and qualitative terms. Is everything ideal? Of course not, because certain problematic theses are periodically voiced. But nevertheless, the dynamics are positive.
However, unfortunately, we do not have the same positive dynamics in the field of Azerbaijani state media, and we raised this issue because we believe this is also problematic and in no way fits within the logic of peace.
It was also interesting that the other side acknowledged that such a problem exists, and at the same time noted that changes require time. At the same time, they are also conducting monitoring of Armenian media, and they also had their concerns regarding certain harsh content circulating in the Armenian media space,” he said.
